Polyphemus makes landfall!

This fine model of Polyphemus, 64 guns of 1783 set sail from the maker's home for Australia. The carriage of this model was an interesting operation in itself. Professionally crated by museum and art specialist movers, she was flown from Toronto to Canberra. There she was uncrated for customs inspection with a representative of the moving company in attendance to ensure that the model was not damaged in any way. After clearance, the model was re-crated for delivery to the client. She spent longer in customs and quarantine than in transit! The client is extremely pleased with her and she now proudly displayed at his home.
